This couple just celebrated their 6 month anniversary so it’s only appropriate that I finally share some of my favorite images from their Naperville Country Club wedding. Erica and I met up with Megan and her bridesmaids at the Naperville Country Inn and Suites. The girls were all ready for us, which is just a testament to how organized Megan is as a person and a bride. Megan was truly a bride after my type A heart…haha! We started our time by taking some detail shots of her shoes, dress, accessories and invitation suite.
For those of you who are planning your wedding, here are a few tips to get some of these beautiful getting ready pictures. First, you definitely want to think about lighting! If the place you have in mind does not have good window light, then you should consider a well lit hotel room. Always go and see the room before hand as well. Second, we can’t possibly shoot gorgeous detail shots with out your details!! It seems obvious but don’t forget to include your perfume bottle, jewelry, perhaps there is a small remembrance token from grandma that you’d like photographed. This is the time to have that photographed! Don’t forget a nice hanger for your dress because you will not believe how many plastic hangers I’ve seen in pictures and they just aren’t that nice. And lastly, the invitation suite! You probably spent an incredible amount of time picking your invitations out, so remember to bring a full suite to the hotel so that it gets photographed. One other thing that I’ve seen brides do lately is have these cute robes for themselves and their bridesmaids. It definitely adds to the beauty of the photo so that everyone is not photographed in shorts and a grungy tank top.
Now on to the rest of this beautiful Naperville Country Club wedding. Megan and Dan chose to have their first look in the courtyard of the Grace United Methodist Church. It also made a great spot for our bridal party and family pictures. Which by the way reminds me, you don’t HAVE to have family formals at the altar. If your church has a beautiful garden or courtyard, definitely consider having your pictures outside in a nice shaded area. After their lovely ceremony, we headed to Naperville Country Club for additional bride and groom portraits and of course to have fun at the reception. I hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments from this wedding! Congrats again Megan and Dan!!
